On this page, you will find some of the research we conducted about candidates for the House and Senate in 2002 and their position on Social Security privatization. During the election, many of these candidates flip-flopped on their previous positions, playing word games about the meaning of the word "privatization" or dropping all reference to "private accounts." Almost universally, these candidates promised to oppose cutting Social Security benefits - a promise they will not be able to keep if they support the Bush Social Security plan. For some of our commentary about individual candidates, visit the "Reading Between the Lies" section. Featured Senate Candidates
